Mountain View Propane was established in June of 2023. In May of 2024 we purchased Waquie Propane in Jemez Pueblo New Mexico. We admire the commitment and dedication the Waquie family has shown their customers since 1979. We will continue to honor their rich history with a customer focused mindset that will incorporate excellent customer service and a family-owned local presence that is community oriented. We believe in supporting local businesses that support us and helping the community with donations for charitable events and causes.
Owner/Operator - Josh Schmoll: Josh grew up in northern Wisconsin and was familiarized to the propane industry at an early age. Josh’s father Larry started in the propane industry in the late 1970’s working for small and large propane companies alike. Larry recently retired in June of 2020. In August of 1995 Josh’s father Larry became a minority owner of an independent family-owned propane startup company in north central Wisconsin where he ran daily operations for 25 years. Josh had the privilege to work alongside his father/mentor and learn the industry inside and out from an early age. Larry’s impact on Josh is beyond compare. After Larry’s retirement and our family’s unsuccessful attempt to buy one of the company’s branches Josh made his exit from the company in October of 2022 after 27 years of service. Since Josh was a child, his dream was to own a small family-owned propane business where he could directly contribute to its success like his father did. Josh and his wife Heidi began their search for a small family-owned propane company that shared their values and focus to the customer. After a visit to Central New Mexico in November of 2023 to visit Ajay and Luci, Josh and Heidi fell in love with the area and people of Central New Mexico and soon thereafter agreed to terms on the sale of Waquie Propane.
Owner/ Office Manager: Heidi Schmoll: Heidi grew up in southwest Wisconsin with a close tight knit family. Heidi knew at an early age she wanted to help people. She worked at a nursing home providing excellent care to its elderly residents while she was putting herself through college. After the 2008 financial collapse and her college graduation in 2010 Heidi struggled finding employment in healthcare administration and considering going back to school for a nursing degree. Her financial acumen told her to pivot into another career path. After meeting Josh her husband in 2012 she moved to northcentral Wisconsin and eventually ended up in the mortgage department of a large locally respected credit union. Upon her exit of this credit union to depart for New Mexico she was one of the top producing mortgage loan originators in the company known for her dedication to her customers and going the extra mile for them. She will continue this practice for the customers of Waquie Propane in Central New Mexico.
